We're glad you're here
Together, we worship joyfully, server generously, love unconditionally, and spread God's grace to all.
Baptisms
The stories from scripture teach us that God’s Son Jesus loves all people — and invites us all to follow him and his way of life. Baptism adopts us as God’s children and unites us with Jesus, his life, death and resurrection. Baptism is a gift, our entrance into the community of faith — the Body of Christ. Why do we baptize? Jesus gave a commission to do so just before he ascended, “go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” We offer this precious gift because Jesus instructs us to do so and because it unites us in a common bond now and in the life to come.
Making Arrangements for a Baptism
Following a child’s birth, contact the church office to schedule a date during worship for your child’s baptism. You will be sent a “Baptismal Information” card to fill out and return to the church office.
Baptism Orientation
Parent(s) and Sponsor(s) are required to attend a Baptism Orientation which are scheduled with a pastor on an individual basis. Arrangements for the orientation are made through the church office.
Weddings
Couples married through Saint Andrew participate in premarital counseling and take an active part in planning the worship service which further highlights investment in the relationship. Much planning goes into the wedding ceremony and care is taken so that even greater effort is invested in the marriage so that the unity of the couple continues to grow for a lifetime.
Want to schedule a date?
We are excited to help you plan and celebrate your marriage! Here’s what you need to do next:
- Contact the Church Office at least four months prior to the wedding date.
- Meet with a member of the Church Office to review wedding information.
- Set times for premarital meetings with the Pastor.
A valid marriage license is required for all weddings and must be given to the Church Office or Pastor one week prior to the wedding date.
Funerals
No event in life brings more grief than the death of a loved one, and many turn to the church for comfort.
For those who have shared in a congregation’s life, it is fitting that their final service be held where they were nurtured in faith—through Baptism, Communion, worship, fellowship, and service. The church offers a setting that lifts up God’s grace and love in Christ, with Communion often celebrated as a reminder of His presence even in grief.
The church also surrounds us with symbols of faith: the paschal candle recalling God’s baptismal promises, the funeral pall symbolizing unity and resurrection hope, and the cross, font, altar, and pulpit that testify to our faith. It is the fitting place for those claimed by God and who lived in faithfulness.
Funeral Planning
Our Funeral Planning Worksheet can assist you with advanced worship planning for a funeral. The pastors are glad to meet with anyone who wishes to discuss options and assist with these careful and important decisions. After completing the form, it will be filed at the church for future reference.
Non-member and Members of Other Congregations
Funerals for non-members or those without ties to Saint Andrew are part of its pastoral ministry. For those belonging to another congregation, pastoral acts remain the responsibility of their own pastor, and Saint Andrew’s pastor will contact them before offering services.
