ABOUT US

Welcome to Saint Andrew

Who We Are

THIS IS CHRIST’S CHURCH. THERE IS A PLACE FOR YOU HERE.

Saint Andrew Lutheran Church, located on the north side of Rib Mountain, serves the wider community of the Wausau area as a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. When people are baptized at Saint Andrew the congregation boldly proclaims to them, “You belong to Christ in whom you have been baptized.” Saint Andrew Lutheran Church is a gathering of God’s people who belong to Christ.

In worship, we gather weekly to be nourished around God’s Word and God’s love made visible through the sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion. From this gathering we are sent into the world to love and serve our neighbors. At every stage of life, as you grow in faith, your joys and sorrows are welcome here. As you share your faith by living out your calling through your everyday living, you are welcome here.  As the mission statement says, Saint Andrew is “open to all who wish to express their faith in God through Jesus Christ by worship, learning, witness, and service.”

Throughout the Church Year, people of faith gather in worship to recall, proclaim, and participate in the mystery of Christ’s life, death, and resurrection. Whether you have been to church before or are seeking to grow in a community of faith – come and hear about God’s love for you at Saint Andrew

VISION AND MISSION

Our Vision:
Worship, Serve, Love. Together.

Our Mission:
Together we worship joyfully, serve generously, love unconditionally, foster spiritual growth, and spread God’s grace to all.

BECOME A MEMBER

There are a variety of ways people participate in the life of Saint Andrew.  A willing curiosity is the best way to begin. While membership is not necessary to participate in worship, singing in the choir, attend an event, or give faithfully in support of the church’s mission, it does increase one’s sense of belonging.  At the core of our mission and identity we are “open to all.”  We really mean it: all are welcome regardless of age, gender, race, sexual orientation, ethnicity, or faith background.

Interested in joining? Let’s talk. Check out the contact page to arrange an appointment to meet one with one of the pastors or complete a visitors card, available in the pew, when you come to worship.  New members are received periodically throughout the year.  If you are ready to join, please contact the office and share your interest.
